Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 October 2026

Savorena is an app for sharing dishes, cooking each other's recipes and joining cooking battles. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. "We" means the Savorena team.

What we collect

  • Account details. Your email address and a password. Passwords are stored in scrambled (hashed) form, so we never see them. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive the identifier and the email address Apple shares with us.
  • Your profile. Your name and chef handle, and anything you choose to add: a bio, a cooking specialty, your country, your skill level and a profile photo.
  • Your choices. The interests and cuisines you pick, the cooks you follow, and your notification settings.
  • What you post and do. Dishes (photos, captions and recipes), comments, likes, saved dishes and collections, the recipes you cook and rate, your grocery list, and your battle entries and votes.
  • Safety records. The accounts you block or mute, and the reports you send, with a copy of the reported content.
  • Technical information. Our hosting provider records your IP address, device type and the time of each request in server logs. We use these to keep the service secure and working.

We do not collect your contacts, your precise location or an advertising identifier. The app receives only the photos you choose to share.

How we use it

  • To run Savorena: showing profiles and dishes, feeds, search, battles and notifications.
  • To keep battles fair: enforcing vote limits and detecting fake votes.
  • To keep the community safe: reviewing reports and enforcing the Community Guidelines.
  • To send service emails, such as confirming your email address or resetting your password.
  • To fix problems and improve the app.

We do not sell your information, show ads, or track you across other apps and websites.

What other people can see

  • Public to other users: your name, chef handle, profile details and photo, your dishes and recipes, your comments, your followers and following, and your battle entries.
  • Seen by the person involved: a cook can see that you liked, commented on or cooked their dish, or followed them.
  • Private to you: your email address, saved dishes and collections, grocery list, who you blocked or muted, the reports you send, and which battle entries you voted for.

Who we share it with

  • Supabase, which provides our database, file storage, sign-in and service emails. It processes information on our behalf, currently on servers in India.
  • Apple, if you use Sign in with Apple, and as the store that delivers the app.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it or when it is needed to protect someone's safety.

We share it with no one else.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while you have an account. You can delete your account at any time in Settings, under Delete Account. That removes your profile, dishes, photos, comments and preferences. Replies other people wrote to your comments stay, without your name. Copies in routine backups are overwritten on a rolling schedule. We may keep records of reports and rule violations where we need them for safety or to meet legal duties.

Your choices and rights

  • Edit your profile, and delete your dishes and comments, in the app.
  • Choose which notifications you get in Settings.
  • Block or mute any account.
  • Delete your account in Settings.

Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012, you have the right to be informed, to access and correct your information, to object to its use, to have it erased or blocked, to receive a copy of it, to claim damages, and to complain to the National Privacy Commission. People in other countries may have similar rights under their own laws. To use any of these rights, email us at the address below. We reply within 30 days.

Children

Savorena is not for children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has an account, we delete it.

Security

Information travels between the app and our servers over encrypted connections. Database rules let each person change only their own information. Dish photos are stored privately and served through links that expire. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password that you don't use elsewhere.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we also tell you in the app.
